What is Precepts Will Custody?
Precepts Will Custody provides a secure and reliable way to safeguard your Will. It gives you peace of mind, protecting your document from tampering, loss, or misplacement—even if you move house or experience major life changes. Your Will stays safe, accessible, and intact when it’s needed most.
Why do I need the service? I can keep the Will on my own.
While it’s possible to keep your Will yourself, many people end up misplacing it over the years. Some lack a secure place for safekeeping, while others hide it so well that no one can locate it after they pass on. In some cases, the testator may become ill, suffer memory loss, or simply forget to inform loved ones where the Will is stored—leaving their wishes unknown and unenforced.
Where will you keep my Will?
We partner with a trusted custody provider that specialises in secure document storage and data protection. Your Will is kept in a confidential and highly secure environment, ensuring it remains safe and easily retrievable when needed—giving you complete peace of mind.
Do we keep Wills that are written by external parties?
Yes. We do keep Wills that are written by external parties.
How do I know if my Will custody has expired?
For our Premium Lifetime Custody, you’ll enjoy lifelong safekeeping of your Will with no expiry date—complete peace of mind, permanently.
For clients under the Annual Custody plan, reminder notices will be sent as the expiry date nears. Payment should be made by the due date stated on your Custody Statement. A one-month grace period is provided for you to decide whether to continue with our Custody service or retrieve your Will for personal safekeeping.
After the grace period, the Annual Custody will automatically renew. Any outstanding fees will accumulate and must be cleared before retrieval or rewriting of the Will is allowed.
Please note: The Custody service is only considered terminated once the original Will has been collected and acknowledged by you (or your authorised party). If the Will is not physically retrieved, custody charges will continue to renew automatically.
